When you submit articles online you have a chance to give your author information in the author's bio box. Too often, though, people are too egocentric in the author's bio box. For example, they start off with their own name.

When you start with your name you are signaling to the reader that the article is over and they can go away. To combat these problems have the article overflow into the resource box. This integration will prompt people to click on your links in the article. They are more likely to click on the links if they are woven into the end of the article. Have the links send them right to your opt-in page or squeeze page. You do have the option to create a link that sends them right to a sales page if you prefer.

These links in the article build links in your website and drive traffic to it. These links coming into your website come from ezinearticles, if this is the location where you article resides. Ezinearticles.com has the number 3 ranking in the world, which is great because you can piggy back off their popularity.

Plus, when you submit your articles to article directories it allows other people to use your article as long as they keep your bio information from it. You will reach people through these article directories that you wouldn't otherwise reach.

The articles continue to work for you by bringing in traffic. For example, you could have an article that you submitted months ago that is still continually driving traffic to your website. This website helps to build your list.

What's the lifetime value of an article over time? An example of Jeff Herring is an article that was written in 2005. The article was getting an enormous amount of use. He wrote more related articles that had an enormous amount of use as well. Then he created a book based on these topics because he knew it was a popular topic. This 2005 article gets 1,500 views a month. This translates to $1,000 per month from orders on the book he created from the articles.

Your article will usually get a lot of views right away for a few months. Then it usually tapers a little and remains steady. However, some articles will become more popular as the months go on. Indirectly you can make money from these articles because they have links that go to your squeeze page and products. You'd be amazed at how much you can make, thousands of dollars in fact, indirectly from your articles.
